2010 to me

In 2010:

  • I finally completed my degree. But missed the graduation ceremony.
  • I made a lot of friends in Balikpapan.
  • I experienced leaving for work and going home by speedboats.
  • I spent Idul Fitri without my beloved family.
  • I finally bought a smartphone.
  • I had some random inappropriate crushes. And managed to move on after all.
  • I managed to lose about 2-3 kilos. And later gained 5 kilos.
  • I inhaled volcanic ash and dust during Merapi eruption.
  • I jumped over the 2-3 meter high office fence! In daylight! This is probably the most ridiculous thing I've done! And I thanked Mr. anonymous parking guard and Mr. Midomi seller for helping me out, lifting me up … *grins*

Now that I'm supposed to be working on the resolutions I made ... at the end of 2009. Oh, I still work on 2010 resolutions, for most of them failed. Well, I'll simply make them as my resolutions in 2011.

Photos

I'm not a Photoshop literate to edit or add effects on photos. However, I've been lately busy working on some photos I've posted here, in my blog. Well, it's so magical! I must say so. A friend of mine got this software installed on my laptop. *big thanks to Elsetiyawan

It's Photoscape
It's a photo editing software that has just about anything you need to fix and enhance your photos. I got totally charmed by the magic of this amazing software. Editing, combining, adding funny stuff to your photos, colouring, you name it.

You might have known this software, but it's new to me, and no question, it's fun and ... provided free of charge. Here are some more photos:
birthday is all about making wishes, blowing candles, eating, and striking poses

after all, karaoke is a real stress release :)

Mom = Match-maker? Errr ...

In this late days of 2010, I should have had some kind of new spirit, strength of mind, inner-self to get ready to count on a new beginning. But there has been something bothering my mind, something annoying, irritating ... err frustrating *I think I'm just exaggerating*. It keeps getting me on my nerves, like I'm being exposed to think about it over and over again. Even I feel like I'm going down deep to a very huge confusion that is growing every single second of my life *again, I'm exaggerating*.

It's all about a topic Mom brought up few days ago. An arranged marriage, that is.
Maybe it's not as bad as it sounds. Maybe.

I don't expect anybody helping me out to fix it up. I just need to let someone else know. I need you let you know, just to make myself a bit more relieved.

an arranged marriage

What about an arranged marriage?
Arrrrgh! What do you expect a 26 y/o woman reacts when such a question pops up?

It was Monday morning when I was getting ready to go to work ...
I simply had no idea what to say, and just walked away.

This is how I view an arranged marriage:

Uplifting

If you're looking for some uplifting quotes, here is one:

I like living. I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow, but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing.

I don't understand men

Gals, you might want to check out the following quote:

Men are liars. We'll lie about lying if we have to. I'm an algebra liar. I figure two good lies make a positive.

Well said!

Well OK, this is how I finally ended up with the quote above:

Somewhere ... away from Jogja

"How do you get to work? By bus? car? motorbike?"
A friend of mine asked me this question few weeks ago.

Q: "How do you get to work?"
A: "Well, I take public transport to the errr ... port. Then I take a speedboat!"

At first, it was a bit weird to respond 'by speedboat'. Amazingly, I've been doing so for more than 2 months, and I kinda enjoy that.
Here I am, in Balikpapan. That is the city I live in currently. But then my workplace is located in a place called 'Tanjung Batu'. It takes about 10 minutes to get there by speedboat from Semayang, Balikpapan.

There's so much to say about Tanjung Batu. But, I just find it hard to describe this 'soothing' place, until I read a piece of writing, entitled:

TANJUNG BATU, THE MOST CIVILIZED REMOTE AREA

*click to enlarge and then read*

Perfect title! It's an article submitted by an ESL course participant, named Feby Antoni on completion of a writing competition held by POSB - the most civilized remote area- . He could describe Tanjung Batu way better than I did (I tried several times, though). This piece of work would exactly tell what it is like to be in Tanjung Batu.

Turning 25

I'm turning 25 this year!!!

been busy doing this and that ... then I began 'googling' what people say about turning 25. Some of the results are startling, that not many people are excited about turning 25.

Check out on what 'uncle Google' found:

"Twenty Something: Why I'm not excited about turning 25"

"Why does turning 25 feel like a mid life crisis?!"

"Turning 25: A Quarter-Life Crisis?!"

"Depressed a/b turning 25...where did my life go?!"

I know I should've read more, to figure out people's views on turning 25. But, I'm not in the mood for that. For, I know that it's pretty much the same as what I have in my mind now, hmmm. What? Those titles above! kinda describe what's on my mind.

Soon, I ended up searching 'agreement' on how people like me are described ...
I read random and found this:

Credits
Ahh, yeah! Procrastination!
Maybe I should do something about it, particularly in this 'turning 25' moment in my life.
Is it the right time to start? Wait, can I take my time?

*big grins* I'm procrastinating!!!
